  • A healthcare related organization which treats protected health information with privacy and security protections that are equivalent to those required by HIPAA.
• The referrals communication channel is encrypted and all information is stored and regularly backed up in a "Class X" level environment.
• Cerner Direct Referrals provides role-based access to the solution.
• All information exchanged via Cerner Direct Referrals is auditable.

Access to Cerner Direct Referrals is by invitation only to maintain the integrity of participants communicating on the network. Upon application approval, each participant is granted access to their own trusted Cerner Direct enabled domain.
